+ Me, Like Me, Follow Me

Thank you to everyone who's adding my new blog to your reading list! So now that I've forced you to find me at a new address, how are you following me?

Since I changed my blog AND my Google profile, I'm experimenting with the way I follow blogs. I've added several people on Google+, and I could add lots more but I'm still getting used to the messy interface (or is it just me?). However, it's fun to get short posts and links. I don't want to do Twitter. The closest I'll get to tweeting is this shirt.

Instead of setting up a new Blogger Reading List, I'm using Bloglovin' to read blogs. So I don't have a blogroll on my page right now - does that bother you? Bloglovin' is okay except for a couple of things. If I use the Bloglovin' window (which makes it really easy to move from blog to blog) I'm not able to leave comments sometimes. And I tend to stay logged in on my netbook, but Bloglovin' dumps me out and closes up after awhile, then I have to login again. Maybe I can reset that – I'll have to look into it.

And that's the problem with all this bloody technology – you have to keep learning new things and looking things up and adapting to all the unnecessary little changes. Like, does Gmail really need to keep changing their Reply interface?!? How does that help anybody?

  1. You really look good in a shirt, Val! And what a great print.
I am a simplistic soul when it comes to technology and my online life. Twitter? No idea what that's all about, it appears to be people spouting (mostly) inanities to their mates... Facebook and a blog are quite enough for me, keeping it straightforward and do-able. Yeah, I'm a grumpy old git too! xxx

  2. Where Fondue goes, I will follow. I'm not loving' Bloglovin'. I kick it old school with a blog list. A tweeting shirt. So cute. Twitter is such an enormous waste of time. Seriously. Go out with some interesting friends and have an actual real time conversation. Guess I'm an old fart.

  3. I use Feedly, which I switched to after Google Reader shut down. I don't like it as much, but . . . sigh.

  4. LOL! "The closest I'll get to tweeting is this shirt." Oh, Val, you make me laugh! And can I say I adore that shirt? It's one of the Merona Perfect Shirts, isn't it? I love the cut and quality of it - doesn't shrink and fits across my shoulders perfectly without button gap. I have them in several prints and solids but I must have missed the birds. Ack!

I follow via Bloglovin' because I like all my blogs in one place. Although, I do think I need to school myself in the mysteries of Google+ since Google is gonna take over the world.

I'm with you about the learning of new tech. Every day, I feel I learn something new. Have you heard about Vine? My students just turned me onto it. Ah, me! At least we're defying Alzheimer's with all this learning!

  5. I follow some blogs in Bloglovin', Fondue is there...and I still like my Google list that is connected to GFC. I haven't used the new Google + or whatever it is because it won't let me use A Colourful Canvas...insists on my last name being there. If I had an inkling, I would have entered my initial data, but I can't seem to change it without a message saying something to the effect that they'll shut me down, take my blog and my children away from me.

Love the silhouette today! Great shade of tights, and I adore, love, the booties!

  8. Technology is my betenoir. It is so frustrating when it does not work. Twitter has locked me out of my account on my iPad today, very annoying. It takes up so much of my time.

  12. Now I am following you again, Val! Your twittering blouse is amazing. I love it.
Learing new techniques is a good memory training, it is recommended for people of a certain age :-) - that's how I see it to avoid outburst of rage.

  14. I've become a G+ convert. I just can't keep up with multiple readers and lists so I'm trying to add anyone I read that's on G+ to my Spashionista circle.
You're wearing the Toms I covet. I want them in Navy but I can't justify paying $85 for them!

  15. I'm a Bloglovin' fan. It's easy and I don't miss anyone.

    I love the cranberry booties.

Your weather looks decent. It was something like -30 here today with the windchill.

  16. I'm not crazy about any of the alternate blog readers, but bloglovin seems to be the most straightforward. You really look good in blouses, and I envy that. ;-) Cute shoeses!

  17. I follow blogs in bloglovin'. It's easy and clear to see in fact I like it quite a bit. I'm on G+, but I don't use it. I'm trying to get my pictures bigger on G+. Dean found a tutorial but the "Old Crabby Lady" that I am, has to make a list to learn it! Super Booties and cute blouse. Very pretty smile in the first picture!

  18. Thank you so much for adding GFC (and while we're on the subject of pet peeves about technology, must EVERYTHING be an acroymn? I mean, WTF? Hee hee!). Works beautifully!

  19. I've been so unable to keep up on blogs since Google Reader was shut down. :-( I use Bloglovin' but I don't like it.

  21. First--love the outfit--the shirt is so cute!!
I'm weird--I have all the blogs I follow as favorites on my tablet and laptop. I just click on the link and check everyone out. I have lots of trouble using Bloglovin and all on my tablet.
